Cher Lloyd X Factor Finalist
Cher Lloyd is the 17 year old singer from Malvern, Worcestershire who amazed the judges on her X-factor audition after singing an awesome version of Soulja Boy’s Turn My Swag On.
At bootcamp she sang Coldplays "Viva la Vida" (a more rap style than the original) and again progressed to the judges house. However, she struggled to perform in front of Cheryl Cole due to a throat infection and for a while it looked like the end of the line. Cheryl gave her a chance though and put her through to the live stages of the X-Factor and was proven correct after Cher gave a fantastic performance covering "Just Be Good To Me".
Cher has attracted much attention in the press both good and bad and continues to be the Marmite of the competition- love her or hate her, you can't help but watch her!

Reports suggest that Cher has already been signed by Syco.
17/12/2010- Nothing has been officially confirmed yet BUT there is so much media speculation about Cher having already been signed by Simon Cowell's Syco label that there could well be something in it. ITN News reported on it last night as did MTV News and the Mirror.co.uk. The reports also suggest that One Direction and Rebecca Ferguson have also been signed up. Stay tuned for an official announcement hopefully!

Matt Cardle wins X-Factor 2010
12/12/2010- Well after Cher went out it may not have been such a great surprise that Matt Cardle has won the X-Factor crown and many congratulations to him, he has been a great contestant all the way through the series.
What was a huge surprise to us however, was that One Direction did not challenge him to the very end as they came in third place. The runner-up was in actual fact Rebecca Ferguson and so Cheryl nearly, nearly had a hat-trick (bet Simon's not too pleased at coming third though!). With that said we're sure One Direction will have a huge future in the music industry in front of them- just as our girl Cher Lloyd will!
The morning after the night before- has it sunk in yet?
12/12/2010- So we've had a night to sleep on it and a morning to read through the hundreds of comments and messages of support for Cher and you know what? It ain't all bad. Cher did great to get this far (especially as there were so many elements of the British press out to get her) and we are positive she is going to have all the continued support from Cheryl Cole and make it big as an artist without the X-Factor crown.
Cher Lloyd has been eliminated from the X-Factor!
11/12/2010- Nooo! Cher is out just one day before the final, final show of 2010! Full details to follow...
Format revealed: A contestant WILL leave the X-Factor tonight!
11/12/2010- Tonight's the night people! It's been revealed that the contestant with the least votes will be leaving at the end of tonight's show leaving three for tomorrow. Let's make sure Cher is there tomorrow to sing the winners song! Rumours of tonight's song choices for Cher include "Boom, Boom Shake The Room", "Whip My Hair" or "Turn My Swag On" and "Where Is The Love?" or "Check It Out" with Will.I.Am but these are all rumours remember!
Watch tonight on ITV1 from 7pm
Will.I.Am to duet with Cher on final X-Factor show!
09/12/2010- The all-star line-up for the final show has been revealed and Cher WILL be performing with Will.I.Am on Saturday's show.
The Black Eyed Peas star had reportedly told the Sun newspaper that he is backing Cher to win and that he would definitely sign her.
Cher performs at the Three Counties Showground
08/12/2010- It was an emotional return to Malvern yesterday as Cher returned home for a special gig at the Three Counties Showground. She was clearly overwhelmed by the fantastic response she received as she performed "Turn My Swag On", "Just Be Good To Me" and "Shout/No Diggity".
Earlier in the day Cher was reduced to tears of joy after she was given good luck cards and flowers as she visited her old school. Click here to see her performing at the Three Counties (pretty dodgy recording but you get the idea!)
Cher Lloyd is through to the final of the 2010 X-Factor!
05/12/2010- It wasn't easy but Cher has made it through to the final show after surviving a sing-off against Mary Byrne. Cher found herself in the bottom two with Mary but received 3 votes to Mary's 1 from the judges.
Click here to watch Cher sing "Everytime" by Britney Spears and put her into the final. Cher now joins Matt Cardle, One Direction and Rebecca Ferguson in next weeks final!
"Nothin' On You" and "Love The Way You Lie" for the semi-final

04/12/2010- Cher sang "Nothin' On You" , a smash hit for B.o.B featuring Bruno Mars earlier this, year and "Love The Way You Lie" which was also a hit earlier this year for Eminen and featured Rihanna.
Danni was a little concerned at Cher's second choice ("Love The Way You Lie") as she felt it would draw too many comparisons to the original but Simon disagreed and thought that it worked well- did it work well enough? Will Cher make it to the finals? You know what to do- VOTE FOR CHER!!
Cher is safely through to next week and the semi-finals!
28/11/2010 - Full details to follow later but Cher is through! Katie and Wagner have finally left the competition.
UPDATE- Double eviction planned for Sunday night!
27/11/2010 - If you ever needed a reason to vote then this is it! Dermot announced that it's a double eviction this week so ALL votes count- let's not see Cher leave when she is so close to the final!
Cher is back to her best for rock night!

27/11/2010- tonight we saw Cher sing 2 songs, Run-DMC and Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" and Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend". Click the links above or pics either side to see the performances.
"Rock Week" confirmed and Cher likes a bit of ROCK!!
26/11/2010 - So after the drama of last Sunday we say goodbye to the Beatles and hello rock! Song choices haven't been revealed yet for Cher but if it's anything like last years rock night we should be in for a treat. Recent comment from "Dave" this morning reckons we could be in store for a bit of Run DMC action- any other rumours doing the rounds that you've heard of? Remember, each act will be doing two performances this week!
OMG that was close but Cher Lloyd is safe- just!
21/11/2010 - Amazingly Cher found herself in the bottom two for the first time ever tonight. She sang "Stay" as her fellow contestant Paije Richardson sang "Stop", it didn't go down to the public vote as Cher received the support of Simon, Cheryl and finally Louis (thank you Louis!) and Paije was sent home.
Well, we all had the warning last week when Aiden left the competition- NO ONE is safe! Cher needs your votes for next week if she is to stay in let alone win this.
Cher sings John Lennon's "Imagine" on the Beatles night
20/11/2010 - Another brilliant performance from Cher tonight as she sang "Imagine" beautifully. It was Beatles night tonight and Cher held back on any rapping or swagga and yet again showed what a great singer she is. The judges seemed a bit grumpy tonight! Watch Cher singing imagine here
You can also download tonight's performance as a mp3 on
Just "Imagine" Cher singing a Beatles song
18/11/2010 - See what we did there with the headline? Aw suit yourselves! Anyway... the rumour-mill/grapevine reckons that as it has been confirmed as "Beatles" night on Saturday then Cher Lloyd will be singing "Imagine" (more a John Lennon track than the Beatles surely but never mind!).
We don't know this for certain but Cher has told us all to expect a big surprise- could we be about to have another "Stay" performance? here's hoping!
Shock as Katie survives another week and Aiden is eliminated
14/11/2010 -Another week of surprises has ended with one of the early favourites, Aiden Grimshaw, being eliminated from the X-Factor 2010.
Cher Lloyd was safely through after last nights performance but Aiden and Katie Waissel found themselves in the bottom two. Even though this was the fourth time that Katie had found herself in the sing-off she managed to survive again as the judges put the decision to dead-lock meaning that Aiden left with the least votes received.

Cher laughs off rumours that she is dating One Direction member
11/11/2010 - Speaking in her weekly video log, Cher Lloyd denied recent media speculation that she is dating/seeing Zain (or is it Zayn?!) from boyband One Direction. In response to the questions she replies "He came in this morning in a green all-in-one. Are you being serious?...Not cool"
"Empire State of Mind" sang on the American Anthems show

Cher to sing "Empire State of Mind" on American Anthems night?
05/11/2010 - Cher Lloyd is expected to return to her hip-hop style on tomorrow night's "American Anthems" night by singing "Empire State of Mind" by Jay-Z /Alicia Keys. The show was originally meant to be a rock week but was changed late on in the week.

Cher Lloyd, Stay with us- (a poem from a fan)
01/11/2010 - We received this from a fan (Hugh Davies) the other day and thought we'd share it with you:
Cher you are so talented, you are a star.
You are amazing, going to go soo far.
In "Stay with me," you let it all out.
You are what X Factor is all about.
Your versatility leaves us spellbound, you can sing any song,
Confident, quirky, appealing, you can't go wrong.
You have a vulnerability which we all adore,
Can't wait to see what else you have in store.

Aside from the shameless advertising we thought it was pretty good- are you a budding poet? If we receive some more poems (funny, serious, sad whatever) about Cher we'll put a page together for the best!
Belle Amie are the 6th act to leave the X-Factor
31/10/2010 - Cher Lloyd is safely through to next weeks show (was there any doubt after that performance!) but it was Belle Amie and Katie Waissel that found themselves in the bottom two.
The judges couldn't come to a decision with both acts getting 2 votes each and so it came down to the public vote which saw Belle Amie leave with the least support. That exit now leaves Simon with just one act but One Direction along with Cher, Matt and Rebecca are now the bookies favourites to win.
The performance of the series? Tonight Cher showed the doubters that she really can sing
30/10/2010 - Well we were promised a massive shock and BOY did we get one. Cher pulled out one of performances of the series tonight and without a single bit of rapping or swagga to been seen. She sang a fantastic version of the 1992 Shakespears Sister song "Stay".
All four judges were unified in complete admiration for Cher who was clearly very emotional by the end of the song with Simon correcting Louis that this wasn't the performance of the night, but the performance of the series! Get ready for a "massive shock" this weekend
27/10/2010 - speaking in her latest official video blog, Cher Lloyd promises her fans a "massive shock" and hopes to "prove to the other people that maybe haven’t liked me .... that actually I'm an alright singer".
This weekend there is a Halloween feel to the show and Cher has admitted that this will be the hardest one for her so far.. good luck- we can't wait!
"No Diggity/Shout" mash up for Cher in third live show
23/10/2010 - "No Diggity" was originally a hit for Blackstreet featuring Dr. Dre and Queen Pen back in 1996 whilst "Shout" was a Tears for Fears hit even further back in 1985!
And the praise just keeps coming! Simon felt that the performance was more like she were someone coming back with five hit records rather than a singing competition, Danni thought she was great, Louis thought she was great and Cheryl thought she was great- hell we all thought she was great! Watch No Diggity/Shout here or download tonight's performance as a mp3 on
"I'm rooting for Cher" says Gamu Nhengu
23/10/2010 - Speaking at this week's MOBO Awards, Gamu said that she was "rooting for Cher...I think Cher is absolutely talented" and that she still "loves" the programme despite no longer being apart of it.
Gamu controversially did not make it into Cheryl's final three acts but despite this she has openly said that she does not bear any ill will towards Cheryl Cole.
"Cher Lloyd is not stroppy" and that's Cheryl Cole's opinion!
21/10/2010 - Speaking in an interview with Sara Cox on BBC Radio 1, Cheryl rubbished recent tabloid speculation that Cher easily throws tantrums and is troublesome to work with. The Girls Aloud singer said that the simply wouldn't be able to handle stroppy behavior from her girls.
Cheryl also said that Cher is also just naturally slim and in no way has a problem with food, "Whenever I see her [Cher] she a chocolate bar in her mouth - I actually don't know where it goes".
So long Divas as the Storm calms
17/10/2010 - (Like the attempt at a tabloid headline? ah suit yourselves!) Storm Lee found himself at the bottom of the pile this week and was automatically out as he had pulled the least public votes.
That left Belle Amie and Diva Fever to fight for the right to stay in the competition for another week. Simon was spared having to choose between his acts as Danni, Louis and Cheryl all picked Diva Fever to go home (lucky Simon has One Direction to focus on!).
Keep giving Cher Lloyd Hard Knocks? -Bring it on!!
16/10/2010 - Cher sang "Hard Knock Life" by Jay Z tonight and yet again the judges (maybe not quite so much Danni) loved her. Louis said that she had been right to take the risk and she has great swagger and looks like a pop-star. Danni wasn't so complimentary saying that she wasn't so sure about it but didn't really elaborate more than that. Simon loved it- "i see the future" was his quote of the night for us!
Click here to few the video or download tonight's performance as a mp3 on
Tonight's show is "Musical Heroes"
16/10/2010 - So has anyone got any clues about what Cher will be singing tonight? We KNow (or at least we think we do) that Mary Byrne will be singing Dusty Springfield’s "You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me" which should suit her style (dark horse maybe?) and there is a rumour that Treyc Cohen will be trying Prince's "Purple Rain" but as for Cher.... well as off 11.00 this morning we're still stumped- looks like Simon is managing to keep most of the song choices secret.....for now!
6pm- Okay, so better late than never! Cher's song tonight is apparently "Hard Knock Life" by Jay Z. Belle Amie are doing "You Really Got Me" which I can't see how it could possibly work but we'll see... Good Luck Cher x x
FYD and Nicolo are first two acts to be sent home
10/10/2010 - Cher Lloyd has been selected by the public to progress for another week but it was byebye to Nicolo Festa and boyband F.Y.D. after a surpise double eviction on Sunday night.
Nicolo was first to leave as he was automatically out after receiving the least public votes but the shock came when F.Y.D. found themselves singing for survival against Katie Waissel. Many expected Katie to be first out but she was spared with only Simon voting to lose her.
On another subject- we've had a lot of questions asking were Cher got her clothes from for Saturday nights performance, well her jacket was from "Beyond Retro", trousers from "Marios" at Topshop and her t-shirt was from "Little Fox"- hope this helps!
Watch as Cher sings "Just Be Good To Me"on first live show
09/10/2010 - As predicted earlier in the day, Cher chose "Just be good to me" as her first live track to sing on the X-Factor- click here to watch the video of Cher singing on the first live show.
You can also download tonight's performance as a mp3 on
Cher Lloyd to sing "Just Be Good To Me" tonight
09/10/2010 - Well we don't like to listen to rumours round here but it looks like the song choices for tonight have been well and truly spilled as we've seen the same list in about 5 different places now! "Just be good to me" was originally a hit for the S.O.S. Band back in 1983 (about ten years before Cher was born!) and then it was covered (kind of) by Beats International but called "Dub Be Good To Me" in 1990.
Interesting song choice, can't wait to hear Cher's version- Good luck!
"I don't have an eating problem"- Cher hits back at the tabloids
08/10/2010 - The Daily Mail is running a story today about Cher (okay and the other contestants bit really...) and in particular about her eating habits. She tells the paper "of course I am eating I wouldn't be able to perform [this Saturday] if I wasn't" and she goes on to say that at the judges house it wasn't the pressure that had got to her but the frustration [of having a throat infection].
Well, hopefully she can blow everybody away tomorrow night and put some of these rumours to bed, however, we live in a tabloid world and we will have just as many nasty rumours and stories brewing up by next week (editors opinion!).
New Cher Lloyd fans forum launched
07/10/2010 - Okay so this is fairly experimental so we'll just see how it goes but we've now set up a dedicated forum for you to visit, comment on, engage with other fans etc. Never done this before so let me know if you're having any problems etc. To post on the forum you will have to register a username first which you can do by clicking here
New "Text-factor" competition video added
06/10/2010 - Before the days of the X-factor for Cher came the "Text-factor" at a pub called the Sin and Bushwackers in Worcester. Watch her as she performs the classic Jackson 5's "Who’s Loving You?".
Cher was the eventual runner-up in the competition and scooped a well-deserved £1000 prize. Watch the text factor video here.
Cher Lloyd is through to the live shows!
03/10/2010 - Were we ever in any doubt? (well we were a bit nervous when she lost he voice and couldn't actually sing!). Cheryl Cole has chosen Cher, Katie Waissel and Rebecca Ferguson to mentor through the live shows. The big shock of the night was probably Gamu Nhengu missing out on a place in the finals.
Also through are Aiden Grimshaw, Matt Cardle and Nicolo Festa for Danni's boys then Storm Lee, John Adeleye and Mary Byrne for Loius and the over 28s and finally 1 Direction, Belle Amie and F.Y.D who make up Simon's groups.
Throat infection threatens Chers X-Factor dreams
02/10/2010 - As we reported yesterday, Cher has been struggling to sing thanks to a throat infection that she has picked up. We watched in horror tonight as it appeared that she may have lost her chance to progress any further as she had to give up in front of Cheryl to save her voice. Will Cheryl hear her talent through her illness? Let's hope so, watch the video here.
Has Cher lost her voice before the final hurdle?
01/10/2010 - The weeks of training and practicing seem to have taken their toll on Chers voice as we will see her break into tears tomorrow night as she struggles to perform an R Kelly song in front of Cheryl Cole. Cher's disappointed that she won’t be able to do her best but we hope that Cheryl has already seen enough to put her in the final 12.
The pressure is on for the final push! Watch tomorrow from 7.05pm and Sunday from 7.45pm on ITV1 to see if Cher makes it through- GOOD LUCK x x
Cher Lloyd and Aiden Grimshaw?
30/09/2010 - is it true? is there a romance? or is it all just some tabloids trying to sell more copies? (me skeptical?- never!) Well anyway, if you are to believe the "press" then apparently Cher and Aiden Grimshaw are secretly in love. Not only that but Simon (que all the pantomime boos) has banned all X-factor contestants from dating/getting close/getting jiggy etc.
Not sure how much we believe of it until we hear it from the horses mouth, so until then we've created a Cher Lloyd and Aiden Grimshaw page for you to throw all your comments/abuse at x x
Who will be Cher's biggest competition to make it to finals?
28/09/2010 - So, through to the next round with Cheryl as her prospective mentor. What do you think about her competition to win a place in the final three? We have Katie Waissel, Raquel Thomas, Gamu Nheng, Rebecca Ferguson, Anastacia Baker, Treyc Cohen and Keri Arrindell (and Cher of course) all vying for the final 3 places
Cher through to the judges house stage!
26/09/2010 - So Cher is through to the judges house but which judge will she have as a mentor? Well probably the one that she hoped for most being Cheryl Cole who has the girls. Danni got the boys, Louis got the over 28's and Simon probably won't be happy with the poisoned chalice that is the groups!
However, Cher's joy at being chosen to go through to the judges house stage has been short lived as it was revealed that her beloved uncle Edward had died on Friday night at the age of just 34. Our thoughts are with Cher and her family.
Watch Cher Lloyd clip from last nights X-Factor
26/09/2010 - click here to watch last nights clip of Cher Lloyd singing Coldplays Viva la Vida. After the performance, Nicole Scherzinger said that she liked her as she was original and had made the song her own (yeah you could ring a ding say that again!) but Simon had a worry that it "was all over the place".
Has Cher's gamble to do something original paid off? Watch tonight from 7.45pm.
Tonight's the night for Miss Lloyd- at last!
25/09/2010 - After what seems like a lifetime (alright 3 weeks) we finally get to see the gorgeous Cher Lloyd on the X-factor again tonight. It's bootcamp at 7.30pm, ITV- we'll all be watching!!!
Bootcamp tomorrow and Cher sings Viva La Vida by Coldplay
24/09/2010 - After lots of gossip and rumours about tomorrow nights show we can reveal that Cher Lloyd will sing Viva La Vida by Coldplay (but with a twist?) in an effort to impress the judges. Apparently Simon is left less than impressed however, will she make it through to the judges house phase of the competition? Fingers crossed!
Watch it from 7.30pm on Saturday night!
A hit with the stars already
18/09/2010 - There's been a steady stream of support for Cher ever since her audition 2 weeks ago was broadcast with Cheryl Cole stating that was her "favourite audition so far." Since then, Emma Bunton, Alesha Dixon and Previous X Factor winner Shane Ward have all added their words of praise. Click here for some video clips from ITN.
Cher to face old rival at boot camp?
15/09/2010 - Rumour (okay so the Sun newspaper!) has it that Cher Lloyd will be facing an old singing rival of hers at bootcamp. Apparently Cher was "thrashed" by Ellice Chidlow in a contest called "The Text Factor" in Worcester earlier in 2010.
Ellice sang I Am Telling You by Jennifer Hudson at the auditions and got 3 straight yesses (is that the plural of yes btw?) from the judges, could be interesting...
Cher Lloyd wows the X-factor judges at audition
04/09/2010
- It was our first sight of Cher Lloyd on Saturday night
and she took no time at all to impress. Before going on stage we heard her
telling Dermot O'leary that she was nervous and her legs were shaking but
with support with her Nan, Grandad, Mum and brother she stepped out onto
the stage and the scene was set.
After a few short questions from Louis she burst into song, singing Soulja Boy’s Turn My Swag On (but the Keri Hilson version) and the crowd were quickly on their feet. With excellent praise from all four judges it was left to Simon to sum it up telling that "it was a great, great audition...there's something special about and I really like you Cher".
